This posey vase was thrown on the pottery wheel and finished by handcarving the design, then fired in the kiln to 2170°F.
The clay is a sandy colored ceramic stoneware with dark speckles. The glaze was applied by hand, and the matte lilac glaze gently breaks into a glossy blue on the texture.
