This mug was thrown on the pottery wheel, the handle was attached and the design was created by hand, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F.
The clay is a sandy colored ceramic stoneware with dark speckles. The glaze was applied by hand, and has reacted beautifully with the hand carved design, creating an ocean swell line effect.
