Storm Tall Vase

This vase was thrown on the pottery wheel and the design carved by hand, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F.

The clay is a ceramic stoneware, warm ivory in color with dark speckles. The glaze was applied by hand, and melts down the carving like a rainstorm.
